South Korea's stock market has surpassed Canada to become the world's 7th largest stock market. The total market capitalization of South Korean listed companies has surged 71% this year, reaching $4.59 trillion. Canada's market capitalization has risen approximately 7% to $4.5 trillion. The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) has risen over 70% this year, while the S&P/TSX Composite Index, the benchmark for Canada's stock market driven by resource and financial stocks, has only risen 7%.
