[CoinToon] "Cryptocurrency Scams Become More Sophisticated with AI Advancement"
CryptoSlate has warned that as artificial intelligence (AI) advances, cryptocurrency scam methods are becoming more sophisticated, necessitating increased vigilance. The media outlet explained, "According to a report from the founder of a cryptocurrency project, he was confirmed to have had his laptop hacked after falling victim to a deepfake scam impersonating a Cardano (ADA) Foundation official. The hacker requested a video call, impersonating a Foundation official with whom the victim had previously communicated. During the call, both the voice and face matched the victim's memory. However, the call connection was not smooth, and a message appeared stating that a Microsoft Teams (video conferencing platform) update was required. The problem was that even the tech-savvy victim accepted this situation naturally and proceeded with the actual software update, exposing himself to hacking."
