Michael Saylor, Chairman of MicroStrategy, is drawing market attention by hinting at the possibility of further Bitcoin (BTC) purchases. While it's not a multi-billion dollar accumulation through large-scale fundraising, it is interpreted as a move to reaffirm his unwavering confidence in Bitcoin.
According to U.Today on April 26 (local time), Chairman Saylor posted a Bitcoin-themed image on his X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption "Bitcoin continues." Saylor has left similar hints just before purchases in the past, leading market participants to interpret this post as a prelude to further accumulation. MicroStrategy recently invested $7.8 million to acquire 122 BTC, steadily increasing its holdings.
This hinted purchase differs in scale from the large-scale accumulations made in the past through the issuance of trillions of won worth of convertible bonds. MicroStrategy significantly increased its Bitcoin holdings through aggressive fundraising during the last quarter, but recently it has been focusing on smaller, staggered purchases using available cash. Saylor emphasized, "We view Bitcoin as the world's most powerful asset from a long-term perspective," making it clear that he will not be swayed by short-term price fluctuations.
Currently, Bitcoin's price is fluctuating between $77,000 and $79,000, searching for direction. MicroStrategy's total holdings exceed approximately 214,400 BTC, with an average purchase price significantly lower than the current market rate. While institutional investors' interest is focused on Bitcoin spot ETFs, Saylor's adherence to a direct corporate purchase strategy stands out as a unique case.
MicroStrategy's Bitcoin-centric financial strategy is considered the most iconic model among corporate adoption cases in the digital asset market. The accumulated Bitcoin holdings have become a core asset supporting the company's value. Saylor's current message conveys MicroStrategy's firm commitment to Bitcoin's long-term value to the market, regardless of the scale of additional purchases.
