Jinse Caijing reported that Polymarket's weather betting market was brought down by a man's hairdryer attack. The man artificially raised the temperature by holding a hairdryer near a Météo-France temperature sensor installed outside Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport. Exploiting the fact that Polymarket's 'Paris Daily High Temperature' market was determined solely by this single sensor, he earned a total profit of $34,000 (approximately 50 million KRW) on two separate occasions. Météo-France, which detected abnormal spikes in the weather data, launched an investigation and filed a complaint against the man for obstruction of business and fraud.
