The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has indicted Taj Tarsha, the founder of NFT marketplace Few and Far, on charges of securities fraud and wire fraud. Prosecutors explained that he is accused of raising investment funds through false statements and misappropriating a portion of the funds for personal use, including gambling and luxury items. According to the indictment, when abnormal use of funds was discovered in an internal audit in 2023, Taj Tarsha falsely told investors that the funds were necessary for project development, making it appear as if the company was still operating. As a result, project development was effectively halted. Taj Tarsha was arrested on June 6 (local time), and the case is scheduled to be heard in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
