According to Crypto in America host Eleanor Terrett, Fairshake, a crypto industry-backed Super PAC, and its related organizations invested approximately $6.5 million in the Democratic primary runoff for Texas' 18th congressional district. In this primary, freshman Representative Menefee defeated Al Green, who had been an incumbent for 20 years. Most of Fairshake's funds were used to support Menefee, while some were reportedly spent on ads opposing Green. Previously, Al Green had voted against bills such as the GENIUS Act and the CLARITY Act, receiving an 'F' rating from the cryptocurrency advocacy group Stand With Crypto. Fairshake stated, "It has been proven that anti-crypto policies come with a political cost," and announced that it would continue to support pro-crypto candidates in the future.
