A new lobby group, 'Americans for Fair Markets,' advocating for prediction market platforms, has launched ahead of the US midterm elections. It is supported by the prediction market platform Kalshi. Taylor Budowich, former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Cabinet Affairs, has joined as a strategic advisor. The organization plans to counter attempts by existing sports betting and casino interest groups to monopolize the market and the spread of distorted information about prediction markets. 'Americans for Fair Markets' will cooperate with the existing 'Coalition for Prediction Markets,' which includes participants like Robinhood and Coinbase, to conduct comprehensive legislative and regulatory defense activities in the future.
