An X user (@cprkrn) announced that they successfully recovered a BTC wallet that had been locked for over 11 years, thanks to Claude AI. The user uploaded computer files from their university days to Claude AI and subsequently retrieved 5 BTC stored in the wallet. Claude discovered encrypted wallet data within the saved files, then analyzed and fixed issues in the open-source recovery tool btcrecover to assist with private key decryption. Subsequently, it also succeeded in converting the key into Wallet Import Format (WIF). The user stated that they had previously used several commercial recovery services but failed even after paying approximately $250.
