Asian Web3 research and consulting firm Tiger Research diagnosed in its report '2026 Know Your Agent: Agent Identity Infrastructure' that "as the era of AI agents becomes full-fledged, the importance of KYA (Know Your Agent) infrastructure, an agent identity verification system, is growing." The report explained, "While the environment where AI agents perform contracts, payments, and transactions without human intervention is expanding, common standards to verify agents' identities and authorities are still lacking. In the era of Agent-to-Agent (A2A) transactions, the KYA system is highly likely to become a core infrastructure compared to the existing KYC. Currently, major companies have entered the competition for KYA standards. Visa is developing a structure that verifies agent identity, delegator, and payment methods through the TAP protocol. Trulioo is developing an SSL certificate authority model-based structure, and Sumsub is introducing a KYA system on top of its existing compliance system."
