U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, an opponent of cryptocurrency, sent a letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, demanding an explanation regarding the stablecoin introduction project. Senator Warren stated, "We request answers to seven items by the 20th, including the type of stablecoins under pilot operation, service launch schedule, changes to Meta Pay, contract structure with third-party issuers, and measures for privacy protection and prevention of illicit finance." She further pointed out, "If Meta uses a specific stablecoin on a platform with 3.5 billion users, it could significantly impact financial stability." Previously, Meta had announced that it would offer stablecoin options as a method for paying out creator earnings.
