According to Xinhua News Agency, a Pakistani official stated on the 7th that relevant Pakistani departments held a meeting in the capital, Islamabad, to begin preparations for the possibility of US-Iran negotiations and a signing ceremony for an agreement being held in Islamabad. Pakistani sources also reported that officials from the military and police held a joint meeting on the same day in Rawalpindi, near the capital, to discuss security measures for the US-Iran negotiations, which could take place next week.
