Coinbase has been embroiled in a lawsuit to return frozen assets related to a $55 million DAI theft incident, Cointelegraph reported. According to the complaint filed in the San Francisco federal court, the hacker allegedly laundered the stolen funds through Tornado Cash and then deposited some of them into Coinbase. These funds are currently frozen by Coinbase. The plaintiff, claiming to be the rightful owner of the frozen assets, has filed a lawsuit against Coinbase for the return of the funds. The lawsuit also includes an unknown individual, presumed to be the hacker, as a defendant. Coinbase has reportedly acknowledged holding the funds and stated that a court decision is necessary to unfreeze the assets.
