Cointelegraph reported that the use of Circle's euro-pegged stablecoin EURC for retail payments is concentrated in Spain. According to data from the cryptocurrency banking platform Brighty, Spain emerged as the largest market in Europe, accounting for approximately 36% of EURC transaction counts and 25% of transaction volume from 2025 to Q1 2026. The average payment per transaction was approximately 49 euros ($57). Brighty co-founder Nick Denisenko explained, "For Spanish users, EURC functions like a regular euro. There is no exchange rate friction when trading with USDC." According to CoinGecko data, EURC accounts for 49% of the total market capitalization of euro stablecoins (approximately $887 million).
